Join the Best! The UHSA Family is Waiting
No matter what specialty you dream of one day practicing, you need to graduate from medical school first. And if you are thinking of attending an offshore medical school, why not choose the best?
UHSA is the second oldest medical school in the Caribbean. We’ve been producing amazing physicians for the past thirty-eight years. Our graduates practice in almost every state, specialty, and over twenty-one countries worldwide.
For those who have all of the required premedical coursework, the traditional MD program is right for you.
Our traditional MD program is student-centered, involves small class sizes, and uses problem-based learning (PBL) to teach the basic sciences. PBL teaching involves using clinical cases to learn the science behind the medicine.
For example, I can teach you all about the spinal cord using the case of a 19-year-old male who fell while rock climbing and is now experiencing spinal shock. Or, I can teach you the biochemistry of enzymes by studying a 72-year-old female who was just diagnosed with dementia. PBL is engaging, more enjoyable, and will ensure you learn medicine in an applied fashion
Accelerated Premedical Program
But what if you need additional coursework first? Well, that’s where our accelerated premedical program comes in. This accelerated course of study will give you all of the courses you need to be admitted to the medical school, as well as the requirements needed for licensure in the United States and elsewhere. Plus, just like the traditional MD program, it uses our award-winning PBL approach.
Joint MD/Masters of Public Health (MPH) Program
For those who would like to work in international health, pursue training in preventative medicine, or just understand the role of public health and prevention in modern medicine, this program is right for you. Plus, students enrolled in the MD/MPH program may qualify for student loans.
